Crunchy crickets now available in UK supermarket

Forget pork scratchings, that tired old bar snack responsible for many a cracked crown. Sainsbury’s aims to blaze a trail by becoming the first UK supermarket to offer edible insects for sale. Smoky BBQ Crunchy Roasted Crickets retails at £1.50 a bag, and is made by the food brand Eat Grub. Crispy crickets may not be your snack of choice, but perhaps now’s the time to develop a taste. Eat Grub helpfully warns of the environmental dangers of regular livestock and suggest that theirs is a healthier, more sustainable alternative. Giving up pointless snacking is healthier still, and now an even more attractive option.
